Avian Ecology

18th European Congress of Herpetology

We would like to welcome our senior ecologist Stuart Graham back from the 18th European Congress of Herpetology. Held between the 7th and 11th September in Wroclaw, Poland; 150 delegates from 29 countries gathered to discuss both European and Global reptile and amphibian research, conservation and population trends.

Representing one of three delegates from the UK; the others being Dr. Anita Malhotra of Bangor University and Dr. Tony Gent of Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, Stuart had opportunity to discuss future legislation, IUCN species conservation status, non-native invasive species, the application of environmental DNA (eDNA) approaches and infectious diseases during his time, bringing a heightened level of reptile and amphibian knowledge back to the Avian Ecology team.
